Job summary

Dow in Illinois is hiring an Associate Analytical Technician to support manufacturing by performing laboratory analyses, preparing samples, and maintaining instrumentation. You will report results to production personnel and work under standard operating procedures.

Preferred candidates hold an associate degree in chemistry or higher, with 2+ years of lab experience; strong attention to detail and proficiency with MS Office, SAP, and MOC are advantageous.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in chemistry preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques (gravimetric, volumetric, temperature measurements, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train to perform routine analyses under supervision.
• Collect samples according to the Sample Plan.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance of analytical systems.
• Evaluate data validity for routine analyses and take action as needed.
• Monitor analytical systems and escalate problems as appropriate.
• Document, communicate and archive analytical results and data.
• Follow EH&S and ODMS procedures.
• Suggest improvements to lab processes and tools.
• Escalate non-routine requests for follow-up.
• Perform lab housekeeping and restock inventory.
• Process shipping paperwork.
