Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Chemist for a contract role in Washington, MO, focusing on sample prep and testing using advanced techniques (HPLC, GC, LC-MS, ELISA) for food, feed, pharma, and vitamin samples. Expect hands-on work in a QC-oriented lab, strict safety, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate analytical instruments, interpret results, and contribute to quality control and client reports while collaborating with a team of chemists in a fully onsite lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry.
• Experience with LC-MS and related instrumentation.
• Proficiency in Chemistry, Biology, and Wet Chemistry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and specialized chemical analyses using modern laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and analyze samples to ensure compliance with established protocols and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
• Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment, including chromatographs, spectrometers, and other analytical instruments.
• Interpret data and prepare clear, concise reports for internal and client use.
• Follow strict safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot analytical challenges and improve laboratory processes.
• Support ongoing quality control and assurance programs to ensure reliability of results.
• Participate in training and continuous professional development to stay current with analytical chemistry practices.
