Actalent in Ferndale, MI is seeking a QC Chemist to perform quality control testing on finished products and raw materials. You will work with a range of analyses and instruments, ensuring products meet specifications in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

The role offers hands-on experience in analytical and wet chemistry techniques, with opportunities to develop skills in titration, pH, viscosity, and instruments such as ICP, AA, and HPLC.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, or Biology for production chemistry work.
• At least 1 year hands-on lab experience including titrations, pH testing, and viscosity measurements.
• Demonstrated experience with wet chemistry techniques, including titration and routine solution preparation.
• Basic computer skills, including Word and Excel for data entry and documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and keep up with a high volume of testing and tasks.
• Strong motivation and a proactive attitude toward learning and taking on responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with lab, manufacturing, and purchasing personnel.

Responsabilidades

• Perform quality control analysis of finished products, raw materials, and special inter-department projects as needed.
• Analyze test data and approve, reject, or adjust products and raw materials based on corporate quality control specifications.
• Reexamine retained product samples when there is suspicion of defects or quality issues.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing personnel to support consistent product quality and resolve issues promptly.
• Use everyday laboratory equipment and instruments, including performing titrations and measurements of viscosity and pH, as well as operating ICP, AA, and HPLC instruments as needed.
• Work with Manufacturing and Purchasing teams to help maintain high quality standards for raw materials and raw material sources.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of test results and enter data into computer systems in a timely manner.
• Perform general laboratory housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Carry out other general laboratory duties as assigned to support overall lab operations.
