Job summary

A&B Labs in Nederland, Texas seeks an Analytical Chemist to join our environmental and industrial testing team. The role focuses on GC, GC/MS, and IC analyses, with emphasis on method validation and QA/QC compliance to EPA standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Chemistry-related degree and 2–5+ years of instrumentation experience, is detail-oriented, and capable of collaborating across QA, lab management, and project staff to deliver accurate, regulatory-ready results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• 2–5+ years of experience with GC, GC/MS, and IC instrumentation in an analytical laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with EPA methods, QA/QC protocols, and regulatory testing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and proactive problem-solving.
• Knowledge of LIMS systems and EDD formats is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze environmental and industrial samples using GC, GC/MS, and IC (anions).
• Prepare and process samples following EPA and NELAC methods.
• Maintain calibration curves, validate methods, and ensure data accuracy.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance checks.
• Review and interpret data, adhering to QA/QC protocols.
• Collaborate with QA, lab management, and project staff to meet client and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to method development and continuous lab improvements.
