Battelle’s analytical chemistry team in Norwell, MA seeks an Analytical Chemist to advance environmental testing programs. You will perform method development, validation, and data interpretation using GC/MS, GC/FID, GC/ECD, and HPLC, delivering high-quality results for government and industry clients.

The role emphasizes analytical rigor, problem-solving, and collaboration with project managers, quality personnel, and staff to drive efficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced ACS Laboratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field with 5 years of experience; Master’s degree with 2 years; PhD or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of analytical chemistry principles, instrumentation, and lab best practices.
• Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting GC/MS, GC/FID, GC/ECD, and/or HPLC systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead method development initiatives to broaden laboratory capabilities and support growth.
• Develop, validate, optimize, and troubleshoot analytical methods for environmental matrices.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses using GC/MS, GC/FID, GC/ECD, and HPLC.
• Prepare and review calculations, data packages, reports, SOPs, and validation documentation.
• Maintain laboratory software, data acquisition platforms, LIMS, and instrument systems.
