Job summary

Highpoint Health Sumner is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Quality Analyst to support the Trauma Program Manager and report to the Quality Director. The role emphasizes improving patient care quality, coordinating services among patients, staff, physicians, and departments, with potential patient care duties as needed.

The position requires a BSN, 3–5 years of acute care experience, and a preference for an MSN with strong leadership and analytical skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives aligned with the organization's strategic plan.
• Support staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution; oversee scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
• Present at meetings such as Quality and Safety Committee and New Employee Orientation.
• Monitor budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relations; justify needs for systems/equipment and stock supplies.
• Coordinate patient care and integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

How You'll Contribute

The Quality Department is seeking an internal candidate for a Quality Analyst position. This role will primarily serve as a Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator supporting the Trauma Program Manager (TPM) while reporting to the Quality Director.

The Registered Nurse Quality Analyst assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.

Reports to: Director, Quality Management

FLSA: Exempt

Qualifications And Requirements

Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) required.

Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or Quality strongly preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

Three (3) to five (5) years diverse clinical practice in an acute care environment required.

Previous performance improvement and/or large scale project management experience required.

Required Skills

Demonstrated progressive leadership skills required.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Licenses

Essential Functions

Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Assists the director in managing staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.

Assists the director by making presentations at various meetings including Quality and Safety Committee, New Employee Orientation, and others.

May assist the director in monitoring departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.

Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.

Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
