Job summary

Ares Secondaries is seeking an Associate to join our Private Equity Secondaries Investment Team in New York. You will evaluate opportunities, perform due diligence, and model investments as part of a fast-paced deal team.

Reporting to the Partner, Secondaries, you will help prepare recommendations and manage transactions, while building relationships with fund sponsors and advisors across multiple markets. This is a high-impact role within a growing platform.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in private equity secondaries, investment banking, private equity, or principal investing.
• Strong academic record, demonstrated leadership, excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Advanced financial analysis, modelling, and presentation capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced deal teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate investment opportunities through detailed due diligence, industry research, benchmarking, and financial modelling
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on buyout, growth and other private equity limited partnership interests and underlying companies
• Prepare and present investment recommendations to committees and broader investment team
• Support the investment team in transaction management and monitoring of existing investments
• Build industry relationships by engaging with fund sponsors, advisors, and attending conferences and sponsor meetings

As the team continues to grow, the firm is currently looking to hire an Associate to join our Private Equity Secondaries Investment Team in our New York office.

Key Responsibilities:
