Job summary

Ares Secondaries has pioneered and innovated within secondary markets across three decades, spanning private equity, real estate, infrastructure and credit. In New York, the team is expanding and is currently looking to hire an Associate to join our Private Equity Secondaries Investment Team in our New York office.

This role offers exposure to GP-led, LP-led and preferred equity structures, with opportunities to evaluate deals, perform due diligence, build financial models and present investment

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in private equity secondaries, investment banking, private equity, or principal investing.
• Strong academic record, demonstrated leadership skills, excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Advanced financial analysis, modelling, and presentation capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced deal teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate investment opportunities through detailed due diligence, industry research, benchmarking, and financial modelling
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on buyout, growth and other private equity limited partnership interests and underlying companies
• Prepare and present investment recommendations to committees and broader investment team
• Support the investment team in transaction management and monitoring of existing investments
• Build industry relationships by engaging with fund sponsors, advisors, and attending conferences and sponsor meetings

Ares Secondaries is a market leader across GP-led, LP-led and preferred equity structured transactions. As the team continues to grow, the firm is currently looking to hire an Associate to join our Private Equity Secondaries Investment Team in our New York office.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $175,000.00. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. The range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
