The City of Fort Collins is seeking a technology professional who enjoys solving problems and supporting systems that have a direct impact on the community. The Applications Software Analyst II provides technical support and application administration for the software, technology systems, and operational platforms used by the Streets and Traffic Departments. This on-site position supports a diverse portfolio of mission-critical technology that keeps transportation operations running safely and efficiently year-round.
The position supports systems and equipment used for fleet management, snow and ice control, traffic operations, asset and work management, customer service, payroll, communications, and operational reporting. Applications include Cityworks, Centracs, CompassCom, MD30 systems, Certified Power, WXHorizon, Traffic Control RapidPlan, Paradigm weigh station software, Crash Magic, and command center technology. The Analyst configures and maintains applications, manages user access and dashboards, monitors vehicle tracking and operational systems, calibrates and maintains technology, analyzes operational data, and troubleshoots system and data issues. The position also supports system upgrades and changes and works directly with technology and software vendors to resolve hardware and software concerns.
This position plays an important role in ensuring Streets and Traffic technology is reliable and ready when it is needed most, including during snow and ice control events. The Analyst serves as a technical resource and liaison between operations, City IT, vendors, and other City departments, helping staff use technology effectively and providing accurate information to support operational decisions, investigations, performance analysis, and continuous improvement.
