Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Supervisor I, Office of Civil Rights (OCR), the Analyst II performs a wide range of analytical duties to support program operations and compliance activities. This position assists the Supervisor I with research, data analysis, policy development, and administrative tasks. The Analyst II plays a key role in monitoring civil rights compliance, preparing reports, and ensuring that program objectives are met in alignment with state and federal requirements.

Working Conditions

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in-person at least two days per week. This is subject to change based on operational needs.

The California Government Operations Agency (GovOPS) is responsible for administering state operations including procurement, information technology, and human resources. The mission of GovOps is to improve management and accountability of government programs, increase efficiency, and promote better and more coordinated operational decisions.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret civil rights laws, regulations, and program requirements
  • Experience in data collection, validation, and reporting, including preparing dashboards and statistical summaries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through reports, briefing materials, and presentations
  • Knowledge of state administrative and fiscal processes, including procurement and Fi$Cal system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools for presenting complex information clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all work products
  • Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information
