Job Description Summary
The Business Services Analyst supports the Business Services division through a combination of technical, analytical, and operational coordination functions. This position is responsible for payroll validation and audit processes, grant financial documentation, and records management to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional requirements. In addition, the position provides high-level operational support to Business Services leadership by coordinating business workflows, managing financial transactions, and facilitating departmental communications. The role emphasizes process improvement through the use of technology, including development of SharePoint solutions and workflow automation to increase efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across Business Services functions. The position operates with a high degree of independence and is expected to apply analytical thinking, sound judgment, and continuous improvement practices in both project-based work and daily operations.
Duties
1. Performs payroll data entry, validation, and audit analysis; reconcile timesheets and identify discrepancies.
2. Assists with full-time payroll as needed including seasonal data entry of payroll benefit deductions, bonuses, and retro raise amounts into Colleague. Serves as backup to Payroll Accountant II.
3. Compiles and prepares grant invoices and supporting documentation.
4. Designs, implements, and maintains records management systems within the department aligned with retention and audit standards.
5. Leads and supports special projects focused on process improvement, workflow redesign, and technology-driven solutions.
6. Coordinates financial operations for Business Services leadership, including assisting with P-card transactions, timesheets, travel documentation, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
7. Coordinates departmental communications, meeting agendas, and documentation for Business Services leadership.
8. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
9. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
1. Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a degree in a related field.
2. Two years of full-time or equivalent work experience in financial operations, business systems, or administrative operations with analytical responsibilities.
3. Experience working with business systems (e.g., ERP , financial systems, or document management platforms) and applying them to improve efficiency or data integrity.
4. Experience organizing and managing documentation in accordance with established policies or compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience working in higher education or public sector finance.
2. Experience with payroll processing, auditing, or reconciliation.
3. Experience with grant financial reporting or compliance.
4. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Your total compensation goes beyond this maximum salary. Your A-B Tech benefits represent nearly 30% of your total compensation.
The total compensation for this position includes an 24.67% employer contribution to a defined pension plan, contributions towards medical and dental policies and fully funded life insurance / accidental death & dismemberment policy.
