Job summary

Lumai is redefining photonic AI compute and seeks an experienced ASIC Tech Lead (Analog) to own analog/mixed-signal subsystems end-to-end—from architecture to silicon bring-up. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with photonics, digital ASIC, and firmware teams, and coordinate with foundry partners.

The role demands 8+ years in analog design, tape-outs, expertise in TIA/VGA and ADC/DAC, and a MSc/PhD in EE or a related field. Excellent compensation and a collaborative environment are offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in analog or mixed-signal ASIC design with a lead tape-out.
• Expertise in TIA/VGA, high-speed ADC/DAC, PLLs, and precision analog.
• Full-custom design flow: schematic, transistor-level sims, post-layout sign-off.
• Hands-on silicon bring-up and characterization experience.
• Knowledge of 28nm and below CMOS processes; body bias and layout effects.
• Layout constraints, matching, shielding, EM considerations.
• Strong cross-functional communication across hardware and firmware teams.
• MSc/PhD in EE or Microelectronics, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own analog/mixed-signal subsystems end-to-end.
• Lead circuit design from concept through schematic capture and sign-off.
• Define analog design methodologies and layout guidelines for the team.
• Drive tapeout sign-off, LVS/DRC coordination with other teams.
• Lead silicon bring-up and characterization of analog blocks.
• Collaborate with photonics to define electrical interfaces to devices.
• Specify ADC/DAC interfaces and calibration sequences with firmware teams.
• Evaluate and manage the analog toolchain and PDK/IP libraries.
• Mentor junior designers; conduct design reviews and maintain rigour.
• Engage withFoundries on PDK questions and device modelling.
