Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County is hiring for AmeriCorps STEM Specialists for the 2026-2027 school year across Amelia Earhart, Park, Provost and Wasatch Elementary locations. The role involves 12-16 hours/week of hands-on STEM education from Aug 2026 to May 2027, earning a living allowance and an education award upon completion, and completing 450 service hours.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• US citizen or legal permanent resident.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Meet CNCS requirements.
• Experience in working with children.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Motivated youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to work with the school and general public.
• Plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications may be required.
• Valid State Driver's License.
• Preference for individuals with STEM/education background.

Responsibilities

• Lead STEM lessons weekly.
• Maintain lesson plans and track number of students served.
• Complete weekly timesheets and monthly report.
• Evaluate progress using surveys and rubrics.
• Build positive relationships with youth, families, school staff, and teammates.
• Promote program participation and provide guidance to members.
• Ensure safe conduct and development of members.
• Implement and administer programs and activities for all members.
• Monitor and evaluate program services and safety.
• Supervise and ensure safety during activities.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and grant trainings.
