Utah County is hiring for 11 AmeriCorps STEM Specialists for the upcoming school year 2026-2027. The 11 locations are located throughout Utah County.
Schedule:
The AmeriCorps STEM Specialist will spend about 12-16 hours each week assisting with hands‑on, informal STEM education of the Boys & Girls Club. The schedule is approximately Monday through Friday from 2-6 PM from mid August 2026 to end of May 2027.
The individual selected for this position will serve as an AmeriCorps member. AmeriCorps is a national service opportunity, not just a regular job. This is a wonderful opportunity to add service and hands‑on teaching experience to your resume! This is an especially terrific opportunity for someone who is pursuing an education or STEM‑related career. AmeriCorps members sign an agreement to complete a term of service. You will be expected to complete a minimum of two 300 service hours throughout your term. One term will be from August to December 2026. The second term will be from January - May 2027.
This position will provide a living allowance of $4,800 paid over each term of service. The $4,800 stipend will be split up and paid on a bi‑weekly basis (every other week) basis during your term of service. NOTE: You will not be paid hourly.
In addition, an Education Award of $1,565.08 will be awarded upon successful completion. The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award is a post‑service benefit received by individuals who complete terms of national service in approved AmeriCorps programs. This award (similar to a Pell Grant) can be used to repay qualified student loans and to pay current educational expenses at eligible institutions.
