Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Lead of Pre-construction for the Americas data center expansion, based in Herndon, VA. You will lead a team responsible for budgets, campus planning, and constructability improvements to meet capacity delivery targets.

The role requires deep experience in large-scale data center builds, strong analytical and communication skills, and a proven track record of driving projects from due diligence through closeout.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant management experience in datacenter operations, facility engineering operations, information technology critical environment facilities, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science
• Experience in construction of data center delivery (design, commissioning and construction), mission critical facilities, or equivalent industrial/manufacturing facility builds

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for developing project budgets and campus planning in partnership with Real Estate, Design and Project Management.
• Drive constructability improvements and value engineering across projects.
• Develop project schedules that align with capacity delivery needs and ensure timely execution.
• Partner with procurement to contract supply partners and secure supply capacity.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, financial, and quantitative skills to back up business cases and decisions.
• Influence teams and stakeholders at all levels to adopt changes and drive results.
