Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Data Center Cluster Operations Leader for AMER MLZs in the Wink, Texas area. You will lead a large team responsible for data center facility infrastructure and the operational availability of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, while coordinating with cross-functional partners to optimize safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity.
• Experience managing large teams across multiple locations or as an acting operations manager.
• Experience in written and verbal communication with senior leadership.
• 5+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience.
• 10+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including facilities managers, chief engineering managers and engineering operations technicians.
• Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations.
• Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build-outs and expansions.
• Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for data centers, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Vendor management of colocation data center services providers to meet SLAs.
• Oversight of a preventative maintenance system and adherence to schedules.
• Experience in insourcing/out sourcing maintenance balancing internal skills with frugality.
• Safety, security, and availability incident response and resolution.
• Continuous improvement of operational processes, methods, and tools.
