Judge Direct Placement is seeking a Senior Director of Accounting, Americas, to lead end-to-end financial close for the region. This role reports to the VP, Americas CFO and requires strong cross-functional collaboration across operations, IT, HR, and executive leadership.

The ideal candidate has deep US GAAP and SOX expertise and a hands-on, strategic approach to building a scalable accounting organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; Master’s preferred.
• CPA certification required.
• 15+ years in progressive financial accounting, including 5+ years Big 4.
• Experience with large-scale manufacturing (industrial products, automotive, etc.).
• Strong technical accounting and internal-control skill set.
• US GAAP, SEC, SOX; IFRS knowledge beneficial.
• Experience with complex transactions and new accounting standards.
• Finance transformation and process-improvement experience.
• OneStream experience preferred.
• Lead process improvements; multitask; deadline-driven.
• Excellent presentation and writing skills; link financials to strategy.
• Proven team-building and cross-functional collaboration.
• Be a role model for values and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end accounting and controllership for the Americas region.
• Oversee treasury coordination, tax, shared services, and controllership.
• Own monthly close with FP&A and regional teams; standardize close timelines.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, SOX controls, and financial reporting governance.
• Provide technical accounting leadership on policy interpretation and complex transactions.
• Drive finance transformation and ERP/system modernization initiatives.
• Establish and monitor key accounting metrics and governance across the region.
• Develop and lead a high-performing accounting team with succession planning.
