Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. is seeking a motivated PRN Receptionist to join USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Pinecroft in The Woodlands, TX. The role supports scheduling, insurance verification, financial counseling, and patient communications with a focus on exceptional customer service.

Position requires weekdays only with no holidays, weekends, or on-call. Some early mornings and late evenings may be required; schedule may change with the surgical flow of the day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-4 years of hospital or medical office experience required.
• Bilingual is a plus.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
• Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.
• Show a genuine desire to work and improve the hospital as a whole.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Strong medical terminology.
• Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Verifies insurance prior to patient’s arrival, to include Add On's and Direct Admits
• Obtains pre-certification from insurance companies for procedures that require pre-certification.
• Requests office notes from referring physician if needed for Authorization.
• Calculating and Informing patients of amount due
• Out-bound collection calls to patients regarding their medical invoice/bill and setting up payment plans.
• Other duties as assigned
