Job summary

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Pinecroft in The Woodlands, TX is seeking a full-time RN PreOp to join our team. We operate 6 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms, performing outpatient procedures across multiple specialties.

The role requires weekdays only with no holidays, weekends, or call; some early mornings and later evenings may be required. The PreOp RN provides perioperative nursing care following the nursing process, supports patient-family centered care, and collaborates with

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with an unrestricted Texas license.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 1–3 years' experience in PreOP/PACU.
• Ambulatory surgical center experience preferred.
• Current BLS, ALS and PALS certifications.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to adapt to changing patient conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and efficient care to patients in the pre-operative phase.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-op assessments, including patient history, medications, and allergies.
• Initiate IVs, administer medications, and ensure accurate pre-op documentation.
• Reinforce pre-operative instructions and provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Communicate effectively with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and fellow RNs to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Maintain infection control, medication safety, and patient safety standards.
• Ensure all necessary pre-op documentation and consents are completed before surgery.
• Monitor and respond to any changes in patient condition prior to surgery.
