Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City is seeking a Patient Service Representative, Float to support multiple ambulatory clinics. The role rotates across clinics to cover staffing needs, handling front desk tasks, patient check-in, scheduling, and insurance verification.

You will work with MyChart and EPIC Cadence, assist with preauthorizations, patient communications, and ensure a smooth patient experience from arrival through checkout.

Qualifications

• Front desk experience including patient check-in and scheduling.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and MSPQ processes.
• Proficient with MyChart activation and EMR workflows.

Responsibilities

• Float role rotates across clinics within the KC Metro and Health System locations.
• Register patients during scheduling, entering demographics, verify insurance, MSPQ, document prep.
• Preauthorization of clinic visits and procedures as needed.
• Assist patients with MyChart activation and online check-in support.
• Handle high-volume check-in/out and phone reception per system standards.
• Collect point-of-service payments (copays, coinsurance, deductibles).
• Schedule follow-up orders and appointments to create patient itineraries.
• Maintain coverage until last patient is dismissed and follow-up well planned.
