Responsibilities

• Assessment - synthesize data to determine priorities for care and discharge needs.
• Education - identify and meet learning needs of self and others; staff education materials.
• Evaluation - evaluate patient progress and revise the plan.
• Implementation - care of patients with complex problems; bedside testing; follow standards.
• Leadership - promote professional growth and interdepartmental collaboration; serve as a role model.
• Planning - collaborate with patient/family to update the care plan.
• Research - read and apply journal findings to practice and participate in data collection.
