Job summary

UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC seeks a Clinical Nurse (RN) for a full-time day shift (Mon–Fri, 6:30am–5pm, four 10-hour days) with on-call requirements. You provide competent nursing care in a hospital setting and coordinate patient care using the nursing process under supervision.

Responsibilities include education, care evaluation, implementation, leadership, patient assessment, planning, and research.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must enroll within four years and obtain a BSN or MSN within seven years.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs, provide patient education materials, assess readiness to learn.
• Evaluation of Care: assess outcomes, discuss with interdisciplinary team, ensure continuity of care.
• Implementation: care for complex patients, perform bedside testing, follow standards and organize care.
• Leadership: set goals, collaborate, promote cost-effective care, mentor teammates.
• Patient Assessment: prioritize care, plan for discharge, address cultural/ethnic needs.
• Planning: update care plan with multidisciplinary resources, communicate effectively.
• Research: read journals and bring ideas for practice improvement.
