UNC Rex Healthcare’s 6 West Orthopaedics unit in Raleigh, NC seeks an experienced nurse to provide competent clinical nursing care on a 30-bed med-surg floor for post-surgical orthopedic patients. The role supports potential transition to OR/PACU within 12–18 months and offers a strong team culture in a nationally recognized program.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must enroll within four years and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree within seven years.

Responsibilities

• Education - identify learning needs and educate patients and families.
• Evaluation of Care - assess patient outcomes and participate in care planning.
• Implementation - provide care for complex patients, document and follow standards.
• Leadership - help set goals, foster intra/interdepartmental collaboration, support cost-effective care.
• Patient Assessment - assess and prioritize patient needs for care and discharge planning.
• Planning - coordinate care plans with multidisciplinary resources and families.
• Research - engage with journals and assess applicability to practice.
