UT Southwestern Medical Center's Oncology Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Float Pool supports outpatient oncology clinics across the DFW metroplex, providing high-quality, compassionate care to diverse patient populations.

The role requires travel to satellite clinics and works under moderate supervision, applying oncology expertise across various settings while supporting clinic operations and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN approved program.
• Experience in specialty areas may vary by clinic.
• RN license by Texas Board of Nurse Examiners and BLS certification.
• BLS certification through AHA or ARC.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and treatment in multiple outpatient clinics.
• Schedule appointments and reinforce physician instructions.
• Educate patients and document responses in the medical record.
• Obtain needed consents and authorizations for treatment/research.
• Triages patient inquiries per protocols and document actions.
• Supervise licensed practical nurses and other staff.
• Proficient in electronic medical record documentation.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures.
• Prepare equipment and administer medications as prescribed.
