Job summary

Texas Oncology in Dallas is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Dallas Presbyterian location. This is a full-time FLOAT position with Monday–Friday hours (8:30am-5pm) and no weekends, calls, or major holidays.

The RN provides professional nursing care under guidelines, supports quality initiatives, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered cancer care. Oncology experience is preferred and BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program; BSN preferred.
• RN license and current registration with State Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Entry level – 0-3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Level II: minimum three (3) years nursing experience; oncology preferred.
• Level Senior: minimum five (5) years nursing experience; oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
• Assess health status and medical history.
• Provide teaching and educational material to patient/family.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Coordinate consultations, pre-testing, diagnostics or procedures, referrals and future appointments.
• Triage patient phone calls and document information.
• Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Assist patients in locating community resources.
• Inter-professional collaboration; support LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
