Job summary

Texas Oncology in Dallas is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Dallas Presbyterian location. This is a full-time FLOAT position, Monday–Friday 8:30am-5pm with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

Under general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care adhering to national and company standards, supporting quality initiatives and coordinating patient care. The ideal candidate will have BSN preferred, an active RN license, BLS, and oncology experience is

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and RN licensed with current registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Continuing education requirements must be met.
• Minimum 0-3 years nursing experience for entry level; more for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
• Assess health status and medical history through patient interviews.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching materials.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Coordinate clinical operations and patient care.
• Handle medication refill requests and document in chart.
• Schedule consultations, pre-testing, tests, referrals and future appointments.
• Triage calls and document information in patient chart.
• Coordinate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Assist patients in locating community resources.
• Collaborate with other professionals and act as a resource to staff.
