Job summary

Texas Oncology seeks a Regional Float Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to cross-cover Medical, Radiation, and Infusion units in the Northeast Texas region. The Float Pool supports multiple clinics, offering diverse assignments and expansion across oncology specialties.

The role requires 1–5 years of nursing experience with strong critical thinking and communication skills. Oncologic subspecialties like Gyn Onc, BMT, or Pediatrics may be explored as the Float Pool evolves.

Qualifications

• RN license and current registration to practice nursing in Texas or relevant state.
• BSN preferred but not required.
• BLS certification required or current.
• Oncology experience or interest in subspecialties is preferred.
• OCN certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care across oncology settings.
• Conduct health assessments and obtain patient histories with education.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Safely administer therapies (medications, blood products) per protocol.
• Perform venipuncture and manage central lines where needed.
• Monitor labs, adjust doses per protocol, consult with providers.
• Manage triage calls and document medication and care plans.
• Assist patients in accessing community resources.
