Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certification; BLS from American Heart Association preferred.
• Certification for Medical Assisting required (NCCT, AAMA, NHA or NAHP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical thinking to address patient care needs based on available information.
• Communicates effectively with care team, outside agencies, patients, and families in written, verbal, and observational forms.
• Assists in onboarding and continued education of new nursing staff within the department.
• Assists in care navigation for patients and families through education on treatment plans, options, and resources.
• Documents accurately in the EMR and follows policy for patient care.
• Rooms patients and records updated clinical information in the EMR according to policy.
• Monitors expiration dates and storage conditions of medications and supplies.
