Job summary

Sanford Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for ambulatory care in the United States. The MA will collect health data, assist with examinations, and support the care team under supervision. A nationally certified MA with a recognized MA program is required, with state registrations as applicable and BLS within six months.

Work shifts are 8 hours day shifts; scheduled weekly hours 40. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
• Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
• Certification (CMA) obtained through a nationally approved program (AAMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA or NCCT).
• ND/MN/IA/SD/OR state registration requirements may apply depending on location.
• BLS certification required within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collects vital signs and health data from patients.
• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
• Communicates provider's orders and care plan to patient/caregiver.
• Contributes data to the care team and follows through on the care plan.
• Performs tasks including point-of-care testing under supervision.
