Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Laboratory Operations Director in Weymouth, MA to lead two ambulatory laboratory sites and build a high-performing team. You will act as the primary operations leader, drive staffing, workflow, and service delivery, and partner with system laboratory leadership to standardize processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• ASCP certification (MLS/MT) required.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory generalist experience.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a CLIA-regulated laboratory.
• Strong background in clinical chemistry and hematology.
• Experience with LIS and Beaker preferred.
• Experience with workflow validation, implementation, and process improvement.
• Proven leadership ability to coach and build trust across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support two ambulatory laboratory sites to ensure smooth, efficient daily operations and strong team performance.
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing laboratory team.
• Serve as the primary operational leader and escalation point for staffing, workflow, and service delivery needs.
• Partner with system laboratory leadership and clinical teams to align priorities, standardize processes, and improve service access and turnaround times.
• Oversee quality and compliance activities, including QC, maintenance, temperature logs, and required laboratory documentation.
• Ensure readiness and performance in CLIA/CAP-regulated environments.
• Support implementation, validation, and onboarding of new tests, instruments, and workflows.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee staffing and scheduling across both sites.
