Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking an Ambulatory Information Systems Clerical Educator to lead onboarding, orientation, and ongoing education for front-office staff including Medical Office Assistants and schedulers. The role focuses on standardizing onboarding, improving registration and scheduling accuracy, and supporting patient access and front-end revenue cycle processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam required
• Associate's Degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred
• Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), or equivalent patient access certification preferred
• Three years of experience in ambulatory front-office operations, such as registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, or prior authorization, required
• Working knowledge of Meditech registration and scheduling applications preferred
• Experience training, precepting, or orienting new staff preferred
• Experience with front-end revenue cycle processes, including eligibility and denial prevention, preferred

Responsibilities

• Identifies learning needs of front-office staff and applies adult learning principles
• Documents education in timely manner and delivers training in classroom, one-on-one, virtual formats
• Develops formal education on Meditech registration, scheduling, and front-office workflows
• Provides education on third-party front-office applications such as Phreesia and Experian
• Delivers education for EHR updates and workflow changes in partnership with Ambulatory CIS staff
• Coordinates onboarding schedules and verifies competency before independent work
• Trains staff on patient financial responsibility and point-of-service collections
• Maintains front-office standard work and ensures consistency across sites
