Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking an Ambulatory Clinical Educator to coordinate onboarding, orientation, and continuing education for ambulatory clinical staff. The role ensures Day 1 readiness through competency validation and ongoing education as system and policy changes occur.

Responsibilities include delivering Meditech and EHR training, developing structured onboarding plans, and collaborating with Workforce Development to maintain competency-based orientation.

Qualifications

• LPN licensure in Ohio required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire required.
• Approximately 3–5 years ambulatory clinical nursing practice preferred.
• Experience precepting, orienting, or training new clinical staff preferred.
• Working knowledge of Meditech or another electronic health record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding and orientation for newly hired ambulatory clinical staff, including CMA staff.
• Deliver Meditech/EHR education as part of onboarding with IS staff.
• Validate new-hire competency before independent practice.
• Track onboarding progress and communicate readiness for independent practice.
• Provide ongoing education and resources for staff and act as a clinical resource.
