Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant in Charlotte, NC to support patient care across rooming, vital signs, labs, vaccinations, and patient education. You will work under clinician supervision, perform POCT, venipuncture, and ensure accurate documentation.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, completed an accredited MA program, and have strong communication, teamwork, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program or DD214 in lieu of a formal MA program.
• Two years of experience in a clinical practice as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen collection, and lab orders/requisitions; PHC/CLIA testing.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely following rights of administration.
• Performs duties such as refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork, and escalation.
• Maintains clean work environment and stocked supplies.
• May assist training onboarding of teammates or serve on a committee.
• Must provide age-appropriate care and understand life-span development.
