Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks an Immediate Care Technician to support physicians, manage patient flow, and assist with examinations in a fast-paced clinic.

You will document vitals, prepare rooms, and help with procedures under established protocols, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care. A high school diploma and certification eligibility are required, with opportunities for professional growth within the Northwestern Medicine system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Within six months, pursue CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certification after up to two attempts.
• EMT-Basic or EMT-Paramedic certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient flow and prepares patients for examination.
• Assists MD/APP with procedures and setup of equipment.
• Documents vitals, medical history, and medication information.
• Maintains clean, safe treatment rooms and protects patient confidentiality.
• Communicates effectively with patients and care team to promote satisfaction.
