The University of Rochester seeks an ambulatory care support professional to assist providers during exams, manage patient flow, and ensure accurate clinical documentation. You’ll attach patients to diagnostic equipment, manage supplies, and support infection prevention within the University Health Service.

Responsibilities include room setup, specimen collection, data entry into the EMR, and coordination with the purchasing and lab teams to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 1 year of customer-focused/service experience required
• Associate’s degree preferred
• Minimum 6 months of professional work experience in ambulatory clinic setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Responsabilités

• Assist provider during exams by applying clinical knowledge and anticipating needs
• Attach patients to diagnostic equipment and monitor devices
• Provide patient information and explain next steps and discharge instructions
• Ensure availability of supplies and equipment in exam rooms
• Maintain efficient room utilization and minimize patient wait times
• Enter patient data into the electronic medical record system and perform scheduling/registration tasks
• Maintain adequacy of clinical equipment and stock supplies, and manage inventory and costs
• Support infection prevention measures and assist with procedures as needed
• Precept new Ambulatory Technologists under RN oversight
• Assist providers with patient processes during procedures and prepare instruments and specimens
• Perform additional duties as assigned
