Job summary

University Health seeks a supervisory professional to coordinate and oversee patient access and medical records support in an ambulatory care setting. You will train staff, manage scheduling, and ensure accurate registration and insurance verification while maintaining health information per policy.

You will serve as the software applications expert and contribute to quality improvements through data reports and inter-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years college or equivalent work experience in Medical Records or related field required.
• One year supervisory experience preferred.
• Ambulatory Care setting experience preferred.
• Experience with online scheduling and registration systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, train, direct and supervise Customer Service Representatives, Unit Clerks and Medical Records clerks.
• Serve as expert in software applications used within these areas.
• Perform para-administrative and clerical duties including patient reception, calls, scheduling, registration, and insurance verification.
• Store and maintain health information per procedures and guidelines.
• Participate in the departmental quality improvement program and prepare reports.
• Consult with staff from other departments as needed; maintain good working relationships.
