Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an Ambulatory Service Representative II for the Gastroenterology department. The role coordinates patient access, including registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, charge entry, and billing, with additional administrative duties to support the department.

Education: HS/GED with 3+ years experience; degree holders with related experience preferred. Strong English communication and MS Office skills required.

Qualifications

• HS/GED with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree or Associates plus 1 year relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with medical billing or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate charge entry, batch controls, billing edits, and payments processing; support billing and managed care functions.
• Provide general administrative support including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations to create/edit department documents.
• Support physician/department by managing calendars, scheduling administrative appointments, answering calls, and handling credentialing documents.
• Perform a wide variety of admin duties to ensure department operations: MPI registration, visit management, scheduling, interpreters coordination, social services, radiology, etc.
• Adhere to BMCHS RESPECT standards.
