Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide age-specific patient care using the nursing process from assessment to evaluation, collaborating with physicians and health team members, and using leadership to coordinate and delegate on the unit.

Responsibilities include comprehensive health assessments, care planning, medication administration, patient education, discharge planning, and participation in performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within 2 years and obtain BSN within 5 years.
• Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse license; additional certifications as needed.
• Cardiology experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and coordinates patient care using the nursing process from assessment to evaluation.
• Collaborates with physicians and health team to coordinate procedures and treatments.
• Leads and delegates activities of the unit team with clinical judgment.
• Performs comprehensive health assessments across body systems and documents findings.
• Administers medications safely and educates patients and families.
• Participates in discharge planning and coordinates referrals for post‑procedural care.
• Contributes to performance improvement and maintains accurate documentation.

Education

BSN preferred

BSN in progress (within 2 years)

NY State RN license

Cardiology experience preferred

2+ years experience preferred
