Job summary

Friendwell Managed Hotels in Edison, NJ seeks a friendly Breakfast Server to greet guests, take and deliver orders, present menus, and ensure a clean, welcoming dining area.

You will work early morning shifts, weekends and holidays as needed, maintain menu knowledge, collaborate with kitchen staff, handle payments via POS, and provide prompt, courteous service to all guests.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude and good English communication.
• Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience and basic math skills for handling cash.

Job description

We are looking for a competent Breakfast Server to take and deliver orders. You’ll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers’ experiences. Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude.

• Present menus, take orders, and serve food and beverages accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and ingredients.

• Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
• Respond to guest requests and resolve any service issues promptly, professionally, and with a positive attitude.
• Process payments accurately using POS system.
• Side-work, restocking, and restaurant opening/closing duties.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
