Houston Marriott Westchase is looking for an experienced AM Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team!

Position Summary: As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will use your experience to oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas meet the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role involves managing staff, coordinating schedules, and providing training to ensure exceptional service and guest satisfaction.

Scheduling: This is a Full-Time position that requires open availability to work AM shifts ranging from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, weekdays, weekends and holidays, based on business needs. The schedule will change weekly to support operational requirements.

Responsibilities

The Housekeeping Supervisor provides overall support to the operations of the housekeeping department. Specifically, this role will be responsible for, but not limited to, the functions including:

  • Managing the housekeeping team: Assigning duties to room attendants, leading the team, and providing daily briefings.
  • Inspecting rooms and public areas: Ensuring that all areas meet cleanliness standards and hotel policies.
  • Ensure housekeeping requests from guests or management are responded to in a timely, efficient, & friendly manner.
  • Maintaining inventory: Monitoring cleaning supplies and equipment, and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude: Encouraging a positive attitude among team members and guests, and treating them with respect.
  • Train, motivate, coach, counsel, & discipline staff members.
  • Maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program.
  • Address guest complaints and concerns related to housekeeping services, ensuring prompt resolution and satisfaction.
  • Update room statuses in the computer: Collaborate with other departments, including front office, AYS and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and guest experiences.
  • Following policies: Following OSHA regulations and all policies and procedures.

This list is not all inclusive, additional job functions will be shared during interviews.

Supportive Functions: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. Due to the seasonal nature and business hours of a hotel, candidates must realize it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift to meet business demands. All associates are expected to perform any other duties as requested by management to support other departments and/or operational requirements.

Qualifications

  • Able to work any day of the week includes various weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with no scheduling restrictions.
  • Able to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to listen actively, and adapt your communication style to different situations and people, including guest and staff.
  • Thorough understanding of guest service behaviors and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task, adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of 8-hour shift.
  • Positions self to raise, lower, and extend arms to perform essential job functions.
  • Able to frequent and repeatedly lift and carry up to 15 lbs.; regularly move carts weighing between 100 and 150 lbs., throughout hotel.
  • Capable of frequent and repeated bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Move hands and fingers in grasping, pinching, pulling, wiping and lifting motions associated with cleaning guest rooms and public areas of the hotel.
  • Able to identify and respond quickly to safety concerns and emergency situations.
  • General knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safety preferred.

Professional Licenses/Certifications

  • None required

Experience

  • Minimum Two (2) years of hotel housekeeping experience is required.
  • Experience in a housekeeping supervisor, inspector and/or leadership role, preferably with a premium full-service hotel.
  • Experience inspecting guest rooms to ensure quality and brand standards have been met.

Grooming/Uniforms

  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
  • Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
