Job summary

West Virginia University’s Chambers College Center for Career Development is seeking a Hybrid Part-Time Alumni Relations Manager. The role focuses on expanding alumni engagement through outreach, events, and meaningful involvement opportunities for students and alumni.

You will collaborate with the Dean and Development Director to cultivate a broad network of alumni, supporting strategic priorities, growth, and philanthropy goals while promoting work-life balance and WVU benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, higher education, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in alumni relations or related fields.
• Experience planning and hosting stakeholder-facing events or personalized experiences.
• Equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and reach out to Chambers College alumni to build relationships and reconnect with lapsed alumni.
• Conduct discovery conversations to learn alumni’s background and engagement capacity.
• Maintain a robust base of alumni relationships across class years, industries and regions.
• Represent the college at alumni gatherings and regional events to expand the network for students and alumni.
• Design and host stewardship experiences that connect alumni with students, faculty, and peers.
• Plan and execute recognition moments to reinforce alumni’s ongoing connection to the college.
• Assess alumni interests and match them to available engagement opportunities.
• Coordinate with leadership to keep engagement efforts aligned and non-duplicative.
• Track outreach and engagement activity and report to the Assistant Dean.
