Job summary

The University of Central Florida seeks an Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement to lead events and programs that strengthen alumni relationships and grow annual giving. Embedded in the Barry S. Miller College of Business, you will connect graduates to opportunities that convert pride into philanthropic support.

You will plan college events, recruit volunteers, manage engagement content across channels, and collaborate with the central alumni team to expand participation and measure impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in higher education alumni relations, advancement, or related development function.
• Experience managing vendor relationships or contracts through full lifecycle, including renewals and payment tracking.
• Demonstrated experience planning and executing events, ideally with a fundraising or engagement component.
• Experience recruiting, training, or managing volunteers or program participants.
• Familiarity with donor or constituent relationship management (CRM) systems such as Blackbaud CRM, Raiser's Edge, or Salesforce.
• Experience creating content for email, social media, or web communications.
• Experience with annual giving campaigns or peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with comfort in public-facing and one-on-one settings.
• Experience working within a college or academic unit inside a larger university structure.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead college-based events that strengthen alumni connections.
• Champion the college's annual giving day within the college.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate volunteers for alumni programs.
• Build and expand a mentorship program for alumni and students.
• Contribute content for alumni communications across email, web, and social media.
• Conduct one-on-one outreach to alumni to build relationships.
• Support active participation from the alumni board.
• Collaborate with central alumni team to grow registered alumni on the online platform.
• Track and report engagement activity using the donor and alumni database.
