Job summary

The University of Virginia's College at Wise seeks an Advancement & Alumni Engagement Officer to cultivate relationships with alumni and friends and engage them in the College’s life. The role requires strong communication across print, electronic, and social media, with collaboration across advancement, athletics, marketing, and communications to meet fundraising goals.

Responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of annual giving, developing messaging, and inspiring campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; preference for Communications, Business, or Marketing.
• High initiative, integrity, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet metrics.
• Evening/weekend work and travel required, with travel mainly within a day’s drive and some overnight trips.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of annual giving appeals for the College.
• Build a pipeline of annual support for general operating needs and special projects.
• Develop annual giving messages and inspire alumni giving campaigns.
