Job summary

The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for an Advancement & Alumni Engagement Officer. This role focuses on cultivating alumni relationships, coordinating annual giving appeals, and engaging supporters through print, electronic and social media.

The ideal candidate will design collateral (Canva) and collaborate across departments to meet fundraising goals. Evening/weekend work and travel are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preference for Communications, Business or Marketing.
• Initiative, integrity, and excellent communication and writing skills expected.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet measurable metrics.
• Evening/weekend work and travel required; most travel is day trips with occasional overnight.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of annual giving appeals to support the College and athletics.
• Build a pipeline of annual support for general operating needs and special projects.
• Develop annual giving messages and inspire alumni giving campaigns.
• Instill a culture of giving among students and engage volunteers.
• Collaborate with the Vice Chancellor for Advancement and other colleagues on fundraising activities.
