Job Description

The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) is vital for the successful operation of the Alterations department and delivering superior customer service. The CSR is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience to David’s Bridal customers. S/he reports to the Store Manager and handles tasks such as welcoming customers, making appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and ensuring items are ready for pickup.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Welcome customers warmly via phone, virtual chats, and in person, demonstrating clear communication and problem-solving skills.
  2. Manage customer flow using all systems to deliver a five-star experience.
  3. Meet all service vows: Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There, including operational tasks and addressing emotional and practical customer needs.
  4. Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously, proactively address concerns, and escalate issues when necessary.
  5. Explain how alterations can enhance the dress for her event, promoting all services and personalization options.
  6. Maintain store standards, including cleanliness and organization, to support a flawless shopping experience.
  7. Greet and escort customers for appointments, perform garment pressing, steaming, and spot cleaning.
  8. Inspect garments for quality before delivery, build customer relationships, and support inventory management.
  9. Process transactions accurately and support all cash wrap procedures.
  10. Assist with store duties and maintain a clean, organized alterations room.
Physical Demands

Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move throughout the store. Use manual dexterity for POS, sewing, and garment handling. Lift up to 10 pounds. Use vision for reading and computer work.

Education & Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years retail experience in apparel or specialty store
  • Helpful: sewing experience and POS familiarity
