Alterations Customer Service Representative

Job Overview

The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a vital role in the Alterations department by providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include welcoming customers, making appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and preparing items for pickup. S/he reports to the Store Manager.

Essential Job Functions
  • Greet customers warmly via phone, chat, and in person, demonstrating clear communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Manage customer flow using all systems to ensure a five-star experience.
  • Meet service standards including preparing, welcoming, and addressing customer needs.
  • Provide an exceptional service experience, address concerns confidently, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Explain how alterations enhance the dress for special events and promote all alteration services and options.
  • Maintain store standards, including cleanliness and organization, and adhere to dress code policies.
  • Escort customers for appointments and perform garment pressing, steaming, and quality checks.
  • Build customer loyalty through excellent service and support inventory management tasks.
  • Accurately process transactions and support cash wrap procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized alterations room and perform other tasks as assigned.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and move throughout the store.
  • Use manual dexterity for POS, steaming, sewing, and computer use.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds and see clearly at various distances.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years retail experience, preferably in apparel or specialty stores.
  • Prior sewing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with POS systems preferred.
