The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) is a critical role for the successful operation of the Alterations department and completing tasks that contribute to providing superior customer service. The (CSR) is responsible for providing an A+ customer experience to David’s Bridal customers. S/he reports to the Store Manager. The Alterations CSR handles welcoming and servicing customers, making appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and ensuring items are ready for pickups.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person. Communicate clearly and adapt style to suit customers by problem solving, demonstrating excellent phone skills, and resolving conflicts.
  • Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star customer experience.
  • Meet all service standards including Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There for all customers, including operational checklist tasks and addressing customers' emotional and practical needs.
  • Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers simultaneously and contribute to the store's achievement of Five-Star Customer Service. Address customer concerns proactively and escalate when necessary.
  • Explain how alterations can enhance the dress for her event in partnership with Alterations.
  • Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
  • Maintain store standards (cleanliness, organization, promotional readiness, store recovery) for a flawless shopping experience.
  • Maintain high dress code standards as per policy.
  • Greet and escort alterations customers for appointments.
  • Press, steam, and spot clean merchandise.
  • Follow quality control guidelines and inspect garments to verify pristine condition before final delivery.
  • Build long-term customer relationships to meet and exceed satisfaction and loyalty goals.
  • Support inventory management by processing orders, pickups, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Process transactions accurately, supporting cash wrap behaviors.
  • Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
  • Keep the alterations room clean and organized.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by store management.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Use hands and arms to handle tools and objects; perform sewing and fittings as needed.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Use vision and manual dexterity for detailed tasks and long periods of screen and device use.

Education & Credentials:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years retail experience in apparel or specialty store.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Experience with POS systems preferred.
