The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) is key to the successful operation of the Alterations department and providing superior customer service. The CSR's responsibilities include welcoming and servicing customers, scheduling appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and ensuring items are ready for pickup.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Welcome customers warmly over phone, virtual chats, and in person, communicating clearly and adapting style to resolve conflicts and problem-solve.
  • Manage customer flow using all systems to deliver a five-star experience.
  • Meet all service vows: Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There for customers, including operational tasks and addressing emotional and practical needs.
  • Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously, proactively addressing concerns and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Explain how alterations enhance the dress for the event in collaboration with Alterations team.
  • Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
  • Maintain store standards—cleanliness, organization, promotional readiness, and store recovery.
  • Adhere to dress code standards.
  • Greet and escort customers for appointments.
  • Press, steam, and spot clean merchandise.
  • Inspect garments for quality before delivery to ensure pristine condition.
  • Build long-term customer relationships to foster satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management, including processing orders and pickups, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Process transactions accurately at cash wrap to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
  • Keep the alterations room clean and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move throughout the store as needed.
  • Use hands and arms for tasks like steaming, sewing, and operating POS systems.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds.
  • See clearly at various distances and use peripheral vision for safety and task accuracy.

Education & Credentials:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years retail experience in apparel or specialty store.
  • Sewing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with POS systems.
