Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. seeks an Advanced Life Support Instructor to provide academic and psychomotor education to students of the Yale New Haven Hospital Center for EMS.

Under supervision of the CEMS Program Manager, you will deliver BLS/ALS instruction, assess performance, and model professional practice. Responsibilities include developing lectures and labs, giving feedback, maintaining current knowledge of EMS trends, and supporting student learning needs while upholding

Qualifications

• CT Paramedic licensure or equivalent health care licensure/certification is required.
• Instructor certification in one or more of the following is preferred: AHA-BLS, ACLS, PALS; CT EMS-I, PHTLS-Instructor, PEPP-Instructor, AMLS-Instructor, TECC-Preferred.
• Pre-hospital experience or other healthcare experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with adult learning principles, curriculum design, assessment, and performance improvement processes.

Responsibilities

• Establishes professional rapport with students.
• Coordinates and teaches educational sessions for BLS and ALS levels.
• Provides verbal and written feedback on student performance and participation.
• Maintains knowledge of EMS trends and practices; serves as a role model for professional practice.
• Develops and administers lectures, outlines, handouts, tests; designs laboratory exercises.
