Job summary

Cataldo Ambulance Business Trust is seeking a BLS Lead Instructor who is an EMT and Instructor (IC) to teach, evaluate, and mentor EMS students in accordance with OEMS standards. The role involves creating and updating BLS content, delivering classes, and supervising CPR/ACLS/PALS training with high-fidelity simulations.

Qualifications

• Must have Massachusetts EMT Certification.
• National Registry EMT Certification.
• Current CPR Certification.
• CPR Instructor Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and leads CEC Orientation Programs for new employees.
• Assist in the creation and development of classes and criteria associated.
• Deliver lesson plans for EMS programs, including Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and BCLS.
• Provide hands-on training in skills labs, overseeing scenarios to ensure competence in basic airway management, cardiac arrest management, BLS pharmacology, splinting, etc.
• Initiates and completes remediation as prescribed by Medical Direction and/or Clinical Oversight.
• Administer practical and written examinations, provide feedback to students, maintain student records.
• Conduct monthly training for certified EMTs (CME).
• Mentor students in the classroom and clinical settings
• Monitors employee progress towards required BLS recertification.
• Assist in coordinating and providing orientation instruction.
• Reports on student progress to CEC leadership.
• Attend faculty meetings, training and planning sessions as required
• Maintains knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
